Australia is a lucky country, lucky that Mr Conroy is here to decide what's best for us adults incapable of making the decision ourselves.

The internet filter is just a dumb idea of attempting to control society with technology (Tin foil hat on: one step closer to Skynet).
It will not succeed to the desires of the Honorable Senator Conroy without seriously stepping on our rights - and that should get him some backlash. I am not too concerned with it as there will be easy ways around it. The only way to enforce the filter imho would be to implement laws that stated if you attempt/successfully bypass the filters it is a criminal act, with fines/prison. Until then, I'm just going to be subverting the firewall - even if I have no reason to.

By the way, was that list you posted an "opt-out" list of content to filter? There is a mandatory filter list though, which includes rating unclassified games, illegal content, piracy - games, video, music, etc.
